Connor's Birthday

We had a few close friends and Billy's family over on Connor's birthday in the evening. We had some cake and ice cream and of course presents. We did it at the club house for more room. Connor of course got spoiled and a ton of toys! He got a lot of stuff that he really loves though thank you so much everyone!

Just a little spoiled you think?

Connor loves balloons and has had fun running around the living room holding all his balloons.

The cake. Billy was off the day it got made so he didn't make it but Target's Bakery where he works did!

Connor opening his presents with Mason. Mason was such a good helper :)

Mason and his sister Kennedy. The are sooo cute together and just the best of friends! They are only 14 months apart.

My friend Jeni with her 2 kids Lily and Owen.

Connor playing with his little people town. This is the only present Billy and I got him besides a book and a little elmo coloring book with crayons. All the presents at the top are because Connor is so loved lol. I still can't believe he is 2! He had his 2 year old well baby check up yesterday and turns out he has an ear infection. He is on an antibiotic now and doing really well but has a bad cough and runny nose. He weighs 32 lbs which is the 90th percentile, and is 38.5 inches tall which is the 98th percentile! He gained 1 lb since his 18 month appointment and grew 4 inches! I can't believe he grew 4 inches in 6 months he already was huge lol now he is just amazonly tall. Seriously he is like a tall 3 year old average 4 year old height and he just turned 2! Everyone is already saying he is so big for a 2 year old.It kind of makes me sad because I already am sad that he is growing up to fast and then for him to look like a 3 year old makes him seem even older. Of course he is tall I mean I am super tall for a girl and Billy is a little taller than me I just don't want him to look older lol. It is good to have tall boys though so I shouldn't be complaining I guess it would be sad if he was the height of a one year old. I can't believe it is the last day of the month I already feel like this year is flying by! I am excited for new adventures to come for the year.

I love you through and through

Ok so I totally stole this idea from my friend Tania's blog...hope you don't mind Tania! Her little boy just turned 2 too and she did this on her blog. Her's was much cuter though because she used scrapblog.com and I just used slide. Her backgrounds are way cute and she did way better than me but the words are so meaningful that I had to do it for Connor. She didn't write the words so I guess I am not stealing them from her just that she did it for her son on her blog lol. The words are from the book I love you through and through by Bernadette Rossetti Shustack. I do not have the book but am definetly going to buy it now and i can't wait to read it to Connor! I was just going to do one picture for every phrase but some of them have a couple because I couldn't decide which one to use.Connor's birthday was a lot of fun! I will have to blog about it later though because this took me way to long and it is 12:45 am.

New pictures!

Here are our new family pictures and Connor's 2 year old pictures!

Connor just wanted to run around the whole time. The photographer got out a stool and he liked it but would only sit in it for 2 seconds. We started telling him to tell the photographer what A starts with and to sit in the chair and tell her and well it worked. We just had to keep doing it with every letter. He would jump up right after he told her what it started with though.

In this picture you can tell he is talking. It's because he is telling the photographer a word that a letter starts with lol.

Connor is turning 2!

My BABY is turning 2 in 2 DAYS! I seriously can't believe it! Holy cow the time has flown by of his 1st 2 years! I remember freaking out when he was turning one thinking where has my baby gone? Well now that he is turning 2 he really isn't a "baby" anymore. Now that I have experienced the 1 to 2 I feel like he still was a baby but was developing in to a toddler. He was a pre toddler to me lol. He seriously is a little boy now. Just looking at him he does not look like a baby anymore or even a little toddler. He looks like a big boy and that's what he is. Of course he has always been tall so he looks like a 3 year old but now he talks and acts like well a 2 year old. This milestone is bittersweet to me. I am so excited to see what is to come and enjoy the ride with him but I am so sad that I really am losing my baby and he is growing up at the same time. He learns so much every day and his desire to learn increases my desire to teach him. He knows his ABC's, and can identify all upper case and lower case letters. He calls lower case ones baby and then whatever letter it is (ex.baby n, baby t) He now can say W lol but I love the shhh that he says too. He knows all his shapes, colors, can identify numbers 1-20, and can count to 13 with out messing up. After 13 he says something like 16, 20. He knows he is turning 2. When you ask him how old he is going to be on his birthday he says 2! He can tell you a word that every letter starts with. Some letters he knows more than one word like A he will say Apple, Acorn, or Alligator. He has little people animals that came with a zoo and it gave you A to Z animals so every animal has a letter on it. One day he had his hippo and saw the H on it so he said H Hippo. He figured out that all of them have letters on them so now has memorized them. He knows other words what they start with from his ABC books and flash cards. Sometimes he will say the ABC's and say them A Acorn B Ball C Cat D dog and go all the way through it is so cute! My favorite is X X ray fish due to him having an x ray fish as part of his little people zoo lol. People are always so shocked when they hear him identify a letter or say his abc's and they ask me how old he is. When I say he is not even 2 they are literally shocked. They assume that he is older because he is so tall and so smart. They ask me if I really work with him and what I do and my answer is he just loves letters, and it is so true. Most little boys are obsessed with trains, or cars. My little boy is obsessed with letters and I am ok with that :). His favorite toy right now is his letter wooden blocks. He always says play blocks and just loves to sit and turn them around and say the letters, numbers, and picture on them. He is now speaking in full sentences. He is so fun to talk to and listen to. He is starting to say really funny and cute things. He was looking for the moon last night and one morning when he was looking for it I told him the moon was still asleep. He couldn't find it last night so he said Moon Moon. Where moon? Moon still asleep. He kissed my "owie" the other day and after said "all better". I love that he eats up everything I say to him. He loves FRUIT. Bananas, peaches, bananas, and apples are his favorite. He asks for an apple every day. He loves peas, corn, and beans. He loves to play with his ABC animals and lately likes to sit in the tote and play with them. He LOVES books. He will say read books mommy and brings me like 4 books. He loves playing with my sister Jaqlyn who is 6. She is probably his only friend lol and she is a very good one. She is so good with him and just adores him. He loves Blues Clues, Baby Einstein, Play with me Sesame, Sesame Street, Barney (sometimes), Baby Genius, and any show on the Baby Boost channel on On Demand. In the morning when we get up he says "Ge Ge. Ge Ge". Which is Baby Genius but he says it for any of the Baby Boost shows he loves them all. He loves to sit at the table in his booster seat with his flash cards, magnets, and computer. Oh and a snack :). He loves to dance, spin, jump, and run. As soon as I start singing a nursery rhyme song like Old McDonald had a farm he starts spinning and dancing. He loves those type of songs! He knows all the parts of The Farmer in the Dell so when you say the farmer takes the he will say wife! and so on. He knows all the words to a lot of songs but doesn't sing them yet. When I pause he just says the missing word. He does the same thing with his That's not my monster book I say That's not my monster it's tail is too and he says "fuzzy!". He LOVES baths and gets so excited when I say "You want to go take a bath?". He literally runs to go upstairs as soon as I say that. He has started saying everything with my before it my blankie, my book, my juice...definetly a 2 year old thing to do! Ok I will stop now I just wanted to share some fun facts about my almost 2 year old. He is energetic, happy, funny, loud, and I just can't get enough of him!

On Sunday we celebrated Connor's birthday with my family. We went to my Grandma Davis's and had cake.

This is baby Lydia. She is my cousin's Kelly and Austin's new baby and is 2 months old. She is so cute!

This is Kelly and Austin's little girl Fiona. She is only a month younger than Connor and is adorable!

My Aunt Nadene with her grandbaby Lydia.

As you can see Connor thoroughly enjoyed his cake. He was just laughing the whole time I was taking pictures. Usually it's hard to get him to even look at me. Guess it was the cake!

In this one I told him to say Cheese so he is. He just isn't looking at me lol.

As you can see I have pictures and I just blogged about losing my camera. Billy got us a new one on Friday hurray! I really can't live with out one and we of course had to have one for Connor's 2nd birthday! Our old camera was a Nikon Coolpix and our new one is a Casio Exilim. We really like it we are just still figuring out how to use it.

Saturday night we were able to go to the Draper Temple Open House. It was an amazing experience and the temple is beautiful! The celestial room was breath taking. It was a lot of fun and I am very glad that we got to go. I can't wait to go through when it is open. The church had the whole thing very organized and it was a great experience. I feel so lucky to have so many temples close to me and sometimes take it for granited.

I lost my camera :(

My friend Jessica (Hale) Livingston that lives in Arizona is in town so of course that means we have to have a get together! We were able to meet at the Costa Vida at Gateway and eat lunch and we all brought our kiddos (Amber (Issac) Prior, Karen (Wright) Ericson) so that we could go to the Children's Museum after. Melinda (Issac) Frandsen wasn't able to make lunch but she did make it the Museum. It was so much fun and I loved seeing all there kids! It is so crazy to me that Amber has 3 kids and Karen is pregnant with her 3rd. It is so fun though! Jess is pregnant with her 2nd too. I took A TON of cute pictures but unfortunatly left my camera at the museum. Once I realized it was gone I remembered when I was sitting by Jess and Karen that I sat it down by me and I think I left it there. I called the museum's lost and found and the Gateway's main lost and found and not luck. Jess did get a few pictures so hopefully she will email them to me so I can post them (hint, hint.) Connor LOVED the children's museum! It was the 1st time we had been and he was in heaven. I had heard how fun it was but didn't realize there was soooo much to do! I had to work at 3 so was only there for an hour in a half so I want to go again on a day I have off so that we can be there longer. I can guarantee Connor would have been entertained for 2 more hours there or just all day lol. Monday night I was able to hang out with one of my best friends Jill. She met me at my grandma's and we were able to chat and catch up. I love Jill and it was so good to be with her. Saturday night I was invited to Girl's Night with some friends and we went to Red Mango and had really yummy yogurt! It was so much fun talking and laughing with just us girls. I loved going with my friends yesterday to Costa Vida with all the kiddos but we were so distracted by them we didn't get to chat and have girl time as much. Red Mango was so nice to be able to do that with no kids. I have hung out with friends now in one week more than I usually do in like 6 months. It is so nice to have such good friends and to have friend time. When you are married and have kids and all live in different places it is a lot harder but well worth it! I am so grateful for all my friends and I really do wish we got together more often! I think it is so important to have friend time after you are married and have kids. It helps keep you sane! Our Lost party is tonight so that will be fun. Billy has been counting down the days till the Lost season premire pretty much since the season ended last year. It is finally here! Connor will be 2 next Thursday which blows my mind! Hopefully I will have a camera by then!

My sister the space alien

My little sister Kailey took my phone in to the bathroom and recorded herself being a "space alien". The mirror in the bathroom has the side mirrors that you can move and she puts them at a certain angle and it makes her face look like this. After I saw what she had recorded and laughed so hard I told her to do it with my camera so I could put it on the blog. I think it is hilarious hopefully you guys do too :)

This is what she really looks like.

Sledding!

Yesterday I was finally able to go to "Mommy Club" for the 1st time. Rachel (Llewellyn) Wilkinson invited me into the mommy club a long time ago but I was never able to go till now. I am so glad I went Connor and I had a blast! It was just Rachel, her little guy Brecken, Ashley Wilson, and her little guy Gavin. Brecken will be 2 in like less than a week and Gavin just turned 2 last month so they are both really close to Connor's age. It was so fun seeing them together! We went sledding just at a little hill in SF by Rachel's grandma's house. Connor LOVED it! C For once he was not clingy to me and was Mr. Independent. He just played off on his own and didn't even need me. He usually always needs me with him and says "hand, hand", so that he can take my hand wherever he goes. He even went to Rachel and let her put him in the sled and push him down while I took a picture. He usually never goes to people he doesn't know. He was just so excited and laughing and smiling the whole time we were there! The only time he wasn't smiling was when he was enjoying eating the snow. I definetly am going to take him sledding again this year it was so much fun!

We were able to get all 3 boys in to a sled and have them go down together. They all loved it! Connor is the one in the front.

We had them do it again! This time Connor is the one in the back.

Wheee! Connor was so daring I was surprised! He went over a little jump once, and backwards once and loved both! It was so funny because as soon as we would get done he would say AGAIN AGAIN! He tried crawling up the hill and pushing the sled at the same time once. He also tried going down on his butt once cuz I was being to slow at putting him in the sled and I think he realized that wasn't as fun. He did say again again like I said but if I would ask him if he wanted to go again he would yell no or not yet in an excited voice. It's so funny because he knows how to say yes but still likes to say no when he means yes don't ask me why.

Going down with Mommy

Eating the snow
Connor is the one in the middle

It was so funny all 3 boys just sat like this for like 5 minutes and us mom's went camera happy! It was such a perfect picture moment. Don't they look so cute!

Naptime struggles

Connor has been really good at going to bed at bed time with his new bed, but nap time is a struggle. He only comes out once or twice but it takes like sometimes 2 hours till he goes to sleep. He plays and plays in his room, comes out and we send him back in and after that he usually goes to sleep. Now that he can get out of his bed he just wants to play. He doesn't do it at bedtime though so that's good. He still waits for me to come and get him in the morning too. Also I have heard horror stories of kids getting up in the middle of the night and getting in bed with mommy and daddy when they get in to a bed and thank goodness he hasn't done that. Anyways so yesterday I put him down around 2 and had to go to work at 3. He came out a little before I had to leave for work and I put him back in bed and then left. When I got home from work I saw these pictures on the camera Billy had taken.

Looks nice and comfy doesn't he....ON THE FLOOR!
Apparently the floor is more comfortable than his bed. Usually he plays and then gets into his bed. Guess he was too exhausted from all the playing.
Today he played in his room for 2 hours when I put him down for nap and then came out after 2 hours and it was 4:00 so I just decided to axe the nap today and he will go to bed early.

3 Things I am excited for to come in January

1st AMERICAN IDOL!
Ok so I am a HUGE American Idol fan and am so stoked that it is starting next week! Tuesday nights at work become Idol nights I love it! I seriously get so into it. I am so excited for the Salt Lake Auditions too. I am a huge fan of So you think you can dance too and they did auditions in Salt Lake for the 1st time last season. 4 from the Salt Lake auditions made it in to the top 20, 2 into the top 10, and 1 in to the top 4! Well because of all the talent they found there (and I'm sure David Archuleta had a lot to do with it) Idol went to Salt Lake for this season! It will be interesting with a new judge this season but I am way excited!

2nd LOST
Lost starts January 21st. I am not a die hard fan like my husband but I definetly love the show. Billy got me hooked and it is very very intense. We are having a Lost party for the premire which will be fun. If you are a Lost fan and want to come let me know!

3rd (the most excited of all!) CONNOR'S BIRTHDAY
His birthday is the 29th I can't believe he is going to be 2! I thought the 1st year went by fast but whoa this one was just as fast. I have loved the 23 months I have had with him so much and can't wait for the journey to come for this year too. We are getting family pictures and his 2 year old pictures done on Saturday at Target. We got them done there last year for his 1 year old and family pictures and they did a really good job. That was the last time we had them done so I am excited. They emailed them to us a few days after last time so as soon as we get them back I will post them!

New Year, New Bed!

I hope everyone had a very Happy New Year! I can't believe it is a New Year already! We definetly had some ups and downs in 08' but overall it was a great year! Connor has made our life so much more fun and now he is going to be 2 on the 29th of this month and I can't believe it! It is so fun watching him take everything in and learn new things. I hope he keeps his desire to learn forever! Billy and I had talked about getting Connor a toddler bed. He said that Connor could have his old bed which is a single bed. I was fine with that. I was at work yesterday and he calls me and says their is a Cars Toddler Bed on sale for $50.00 and asks if he should get it. He said that his bed is pretty big and so we decided to get it and wait a few years for the bigger bed! Of course new bed means new decorations! We have decided that we are going to decorate his room Pixar. Here is what we have so far.

Billy actually got this picture of Violet a while ago. It is Pixar so it is in Connor's room now! Lol I know they are both girls but hey at least they aren't Disney princesses.

Billy got some Wall Car's stickers to go above his bed. I think they are pretty cute!

The bed!!

When I got home from work I asked Billy if Connor had had a nap and he said no. He said that he won't stay in it and just comes out, and that he thinks his new bed is a new toy. I decided to try and of course he did get up and come out after about 15 minutes. I decided to just keep putting him back in his bed. I would just talk to him about how this was his new bed where he needed to take a nap and not to get up. He got up about 3 more times and then after the 3rd time I heard him crying a little and then he went to sleep! Only an hour after I had started trying....he sometimes would play in his crib for an hour till he went to sleep.

Here he is asleep in his new bed. I told him that it is his big boy bed so he calls it boy bed.

I figured that since nap time was a battle bed time would be too. I talked to him about staying in his bed and not coming out again. I also told him not to come out in the morning to wait till mommy came and got him. Well he didn't go right to sleep but he did stay in...well his room. I don't think he stayed in his bed when I put him to bed because I could hear a lot of racket. He didn't come out once though and was asleep in his bed an hour after I put him to bed. If he got up and played with toys I think that is fine at least he didn't come out and he got in his bed himself and went to sleep after. At 7:30 this morning I could hear him I went in there and he was just playing in his bed. He didn't even get out of his bed he waited for me just like I asked him! I am sure there will be some ups and downs with this new transition but I am so proud of him for his 1st night not coming out once!

On to New Years Eve! Billy was supposed to work till 9:00 and I was a little disappointed because I had to work at 6 am the next day and so not planning on staying up till midnight. Sorry folks I know I am a part pooper but getting more than 5 hours of sleep seemed better to me than yelling "Happy New Year!". He was able to trade and work in the morning so we went to a party at The Holdaways. I left with Connor at 9:30 even if I would have made it till midnight he would have barely of made it another half hour. We had a lot of fun there was GREAT food and some major Guitar Hero World Tour action going on. Connor needed my attention so I didn't get to play much but I still had fun.

Sorry for some reason the lighting at there place was really bad on my camera. I tried to fix it on Photosmart but it didn't really help. I had to put the pictures of everyone playing Guitar Hero though!

I know the lamp makes the lighting worst.

Connor looking at a book. Liz had these Tail books that Connor loved!

Thank goodness for the letter magnets! Connor loved playing with their letter magnets.

They just got a new dog that they named Daisy. She is sooo cute and little! She is only 9 weeks old and seemed very good to me.

I thought I would throw this picture on here cuz Connor looks so dang cute in it!

Here is my little dancing machine! He loves to dance and sometimes dancing to him is just spinning. He loves to spin as well! I thought this was cute though so I thought I would share. He is dancing to his Pooh Christmas book that my mom got him for Christmas. I love how he says a dance while he is dancing. He always says I falled when he falls. He's so funny. Another funny thing he just said today. He was throwing his balls and would said "ball, catch" as he threw one. He was throwing it to no one just the air but it was so funny cuz he said ball catch.
