A series of unfortunate events

Wow this month just keeps having one thing after another. Where is the light at the end of the tunnel? A friend on facebook just asked me how I can be so positive all the time and all I have been doing is complaining on my blog hahaa. No I really do still have a positive attitude and outlook but we really have been having some bad luck this month! Hopefully next month will be better. Ok now on to my story of what happened haha.

Tuesday night Billy left for school a little after 5. I had plugged in my phone to charge and it was on silent and I was relaxing on the couch with the MAC having some me time. It's almost 6 and my neighbor knocks on my door and tells me that Billy just called her and asked her to go ask me to answer my phone. He had been trying to get a hold of me. I of course didn't think it could be that big of a deal and continue to talk to my neighbor and catch up for about 5 minutes. Then I go to my phone and see 17 missed calls and Billy calls again right as I am looking at it. All I hear is why haven't you been answering your phone, I have been trying to get a hold of you for an hour, a car blew up on the freeway and I have been on the side of the freeway. He was really upset for "a car" blowing up on the freeway. He then said I was acting like I didn't really care that HIS car just blew up on the freeway. Yep I heard it that time he said HIS. There was no fire or anything but it had smoked. His car blew a gasket and some other things, and his dad was on his way to tow it. We knew that that was it for his car. We have had a lot of problems with his car the last couple years and payed to fix things more than it is worth. It would have needed a new engine and some other parts and would have cost 3000 dollars. His car is not worth that. Him and his dad went to the Nissan dealership in Orem, and he came home with a new car! It is a 2008 Nissan Versa. It is really nice and new and I am so glad that we have a nice car that we won't have any problems with! It was pretty scary that his car blew up on the freeway it was probably a good thing it wasn't me driving it though because I probably would have died in a situation like that. I am excited that we have a new car......not excited to pay the monthly car payment. Looking at our budget and our bills we already have I really don't know how we are going to do it. Everyone always says it will all work out so I really hope it does but I am stressing a little about it and nervous! Ok well here are pics of Billy's new car!

Thanks again everyone for your comments! It is so nice to have so many good friends that are really concerned and really care. I feel the love :). Yesterday we went and got Connor's hard cast on and went to Dr. Wallentine. He actually seemed to take mine and Billy's concerns seriously and not blow us off like every other Doctor. Right when he saw him he was like" he's 4?", and me and billy were both like he's 2. He thinks that because he is so big for his age could be part of the problem. He couldn't believe he was only 2 for how tall he is and he said that even though he is as tall as a 4 year old he still has 2 year old bones. Him falling down is a lot different then a normal sized 2 year old falling down. It's a lot further down and a lot harder on him because of his size. He looked at his teeth and some other things and is pretty positive that he doesn't have bone marrow disease. He did an x ray on his pelvic area and everything looked fine. He asked what Connor's doctor thinks of all of it, and sadly we have not been to him consistently. Connor hurt his leg in St. George and so we went to a pediatrician down there, and then the time after that he had hurt it at my mom's and I took him to the Spanish Fork Clinic. Dr. Wallentine wants me to take Connor to his Doctor and tell him all the dates and all the problems and things. He faxed over some papers to him and requested some blood work to be done to check his bones and what not.

A blessing in disguise?

First of all thank you thank you so much everyone for your kind and encouraging comments! They really were a self esteem boost and made me have a lot more faith in my gut feelings and motherly instincts on Connor's leg. Of course mother's know best! Ok so update on Connor he is doing sooooo much better! He is like a completely different kid since my last post 3 days ago! He is able to sit up, bend his leg, and move it. He has climbed off the couch on to the floor a few times and he climbed off my bed today to get his tooth brush he had dropped but then realized he couldn't really get it. He rolls around a little and he even has kicked his broken leg a couple times! It is still so hard to see him not be able to run around, and dance, and play. It is nice to see him not in pain though! I think that is one of the hardest things for a mother to see is her child in pain. It was killing me! He really is happy and easily entertained which I am lucky for that. Ok so yesterday I got a phone call from the doctor's office saying that Connor had broken his leg so bad that the doctor wanted him to get his cast from an orthopedic specialist. They gave me 2 referals Dr. Larsen and Dr. Walentine. Dr. Walentine sounded so familiar that I texted my mom and asked if she had heard of him. She said yes get him in to him and that he is the best. I talked to her a little later and she told me that he is the one that her and my Grandma have been wanting me to take him too. I called to make an appointment but they were already closed for the weekend so I have to wait till Monday morning to call back. Hopefully they can get him in soon because he was supposed to get it on Tuesday from the other doctor. Even though he is doing much better I still think that he will feel even more better with a hard cast. The reason the title of my post is a blessing in disguise is because I really just have a good feeling about going to this doctor. My Grandma HATES doctors and she really likes Dr. Walentine. For her to say he is a good doctor means he really is. I am going to tell him all the problems he has had with his leg for the last year. I have all the dates that he has gotten it x-rayed, or hasn't been able to walk for a day just from tripping or jumping and falling. I am going to tell him all of them and how I don't think it's normal. Also how it is not normal that he broke his leg from tripping while dancing around! I am going to see if there is a vitamin supplement he recommends and if he can test his bone density. I have a good feeling about this doctor doing his cast because I know he will get it in the right placement and maybe his leg will heal perfectly and have no problems after it heals (which is what I am praying for!). With him knowing my family and them knowing him maybe he will take me seriously with all my concerns. If there is something really wrong with his leg he will help me figure it out and fix it! Thanks again everyone for all your support and help I really appreciate it! I will give everyone an update after his doctor appointment!

Really?

So for those of you non facebookers that don't know on Tuesday Connor broke his right leg. I was at work and my mom was tending him. She was running errands and my sisters were watching him. He was dancing and playing with Taylor. She said that they were looking at Halloween costumes and he would say what they were and then like spin around. He was doing that and he fell and she heard the bone snap and he just collapsed. Isn't it odd to break a leg that easily? Well he has had problems with this leg for a while, and for those of you that know he broke his leg when he was a baby no it's not the same one. For those of you that don't know yes he has broken his other leg he did when he was 11 months old. Go to November 2007 posts to see it. Ok anyways so last June (go to June 2008 to see post) he just like tripped over an open book while I was getting him some milk. One leg went one way one went the other. I took him to the doctor the next day cuz he wouldn't walk and they x-rayed it and said it was just a sprain. They wrapped it and said to take it off every couple days to see if he will walk and bring him back a week later if he still wasn't walking. A week later he still wasn't walking and would cry when we tried to get him too, so we took him back. They x-rayed it again and said it was just a really bad sprain. For like a month or maybe even 2 he limped with that leg. His doctor said that was fine. Ever since then he has ran and walked a little different. If he runs too hard and for too long he limps. If he jumps and falls its always that leg (the right that he just broke. ) that has problems with. Since then he has had 5 xrays on it, went to primary childrens, and lots of different doctors and they always say that it is fine. Now he just broke that same leg that he has had probelms with for a year just from falling while dancing. It's funny cuz his left leg has healed perfect since he broke it almost 2 years ago and he has had no problems with it. His right one though has had all kinds of problems. I really think there is something wrong with his bones though. What other 2 year old do you know that has broken both his legs?! NOT NORMAL. I don't even know very many adults that have broken one leg! I am frustrated that no doctors seem concerned about it. I am just hoping and praying that it will heal perfectly and he will have no problems with it after all of this is over. He is having a lot harder time with this leg being broken than he did with his other one. I looked at that post and in the pictures with his cast he is sitting up., I am holding him in a standing position, and he is crawling. Today all he would do is lay on the couch. If I barely move him he cries in pain, change his diaper he cries, carry him he cries, barely touch that leg he cries. There is no way he would sit up or stand up or crawl. I know it has only been a day so I hope that it gets better. They prescribed him loratab which I was nervous about but he is doing fine with. I only gave it to him when he got up and before bed and did motrin in between which the pharmacist said is fine. It does help because even with just laying on the couch when it wears off he just starts screaming. I think it is the worst thing ever to see your child in pain. This next month is going to be hard and trialing and Billy and I are going to have to be very patient. I feel so bad for him! If it doesn't heal right and he still has problems with it after I just don't know what I'm going to do. Sorry about all the venting I just needed to let it all out. He gets his hard cast next Tuesday so right now he just has a temporary one. Please keep him in your prayers and it will be much appreciated!

Salem Days!

Salem Days was Saturday and it was a lot of fun! It wasn't too hot this year which was so nice! Made it so we didn't get hot at the parade and didn't get too hot at the park. I remember last year at the park that it was just too hot that we just wanted to leave. It made it more fun not being too hot. Connor was able to do all the kiddie games at the park this year too and he really enjoyed them! He did pretty good for a 2 year old! The basketball toss he stood behind a line that was for 0-4 year olds and he made all 3 baskets in! Football Toss he made one football in! After the park we just hung out at Grandma Davis's for a little while and then went to the Salem Days dinner. After that we went to the auction and then we were going to stay at my grandma's for the fireworks but Connor wasn't feeling too well cuz he has an ear infection. The antibiotic has helped a ton but he is still a little sick so we were party poopers and decided to head home.

At the very beginning of the auction they did a coin toss for a kid sized 4-wheeler. My dad bought 4 wrist bands and they were 10 dollars each. The coin toss had at least 100 people in it at the beginning. If you wanted heads you went to one side of the stage ,tails the other. If you didn't pick which it was you were out and had to get off the stage. Well my sister Taylor who is 12 WON! That's right she won a 4-wheeler! Isn't that awesome! The picture above is of her right when she won!

This was at the dinner. Connor was so pooped that he wanted me to hold him and put his head on my shoulder while Billy got my food. We sat down and he still wanted to sit on my lap and was laying against my chest. I gave him a cookie and he took a bite and the next thing I knew he was asleep! We pushed 2 chairs together and he slept all through the dinner. I picked him up and carried him to the auction and he stayed asleep for about a half hour of it!

I can't believe summer is almost over! Holy cow it went by WAY too fast! I am not ready for fall yet!

Fun with the kiddies and without.

I have had sooo much fun the last couple days! One of my best friends Amber (Shelley) Pendleton is in town from Indiana and I hadn't seen her for a year! Another one of my best friends is visiting from Arizona that I hadn't seen for about 6 months. It worked out perfectly that they were here at the same time today so we got together today for lunch with our close friends Karen (Wright) Ericson and Amber (Issac) Prior as well. Amber Prior and Karen both live in Utah.

None of us brought our kids except Jess brought little Emma who is 2 months old. She was as good as gold and didn't make a peep the whole time! She is so cute!

Jess looked at Me and Amber and was like oh my gosh you guys have the same color of eyes! I have to take a picture! Here is the picture haha. Our eyes really are the same color and we had never even noticed or thought about it haha.

So that was fun day with friends with out the kids. Yesterday was my fun day with friends with all our kids! I am in a mommy club and we went to my ranch for mommy club! The weather was perfect and we had so much fun and so did the kids!

This was his not happy face though lol. He wasn't feeling very well and wasn't really himself at the ranch. He was kinda cranky and not really energetic. He got fevered that night and he had had a runny nose so I took him to the doctor because those are the symptoms he has whenever he has an ear infection. I was right he has an ear infection. I gave him the antibiotic that night and he woke up this morning a completly different kid! He is pretty much back to his normal happy busy body self today!
